This blog post is our monthly(-ish) newsletter style blog post. Cachetur.no has always been open, and to ensure that we stay open we want to use this newsletter to share information about what’s going on.
Recent changes
Since the last As the Cache Turns, we’ve added a new notes feature to the app. We’ve also made some improvements to the Cachetur Assistant, fixed various bugs, and continued working in improvements of admin and moderator tools.
We have entered the “geocaching season”, which means that development slows down as geocaching take up much more of the time.
But our support is still as awesome as before, and we would like to welcome our new German ambassador, flower6871 to the team.
The full changelog is available here.
Things we’re working on now
During the summer months, most of us are geocaching – just like other geocachers. So development slows down considerably. Summer means travel, which allows us to meet several of our awesome users – so don’t be afraid to say hello when you meet us at the next event!
But we are still doing stuff, and we are slowly working on improving the help center and other help resources.
Things we intend to work on soon
We intend to continue to improve the new notes feature in the app, and expand it to work directly on the waypoints in a trip, with integration to the task answer feature.
The app is also mature enough, that we have decided to make it available in multiple languages. We have not decided when this is going to happen, but our intention is to be able to provide the app in at least English, German and Norwegian within the end of this year.
We also still intend to utilize the friends feature in the new API better. And we hope to be able to meet more of our users at events around the world, host more workshops and help more people learn how to get the most out of cachetur.no.
Upcoming events
Attending a cachetur.no event, class, talk etc. is a nice way to learn more about the site. Our wonderful ambassadors, and even some really cool users, will be attending several events during the next months.

Our economy
Running cachetur.no require a constant focus on our expenses, we want to provide you the best service we can, but we can’t consume more services than we are able to pay for.
Our economy looks good right now, but we still need continued support to keep operating. Thank you to all of you that have contributed!
Remember that all of us that work on this site (and app), including developer and all ambassadors, do this for free in our spare time. Cachetur.no does not pay anyone 🙂 Positive feedback is the only pay we get, so please, do give us the feedback you think we deserve.
